MCMULLEN: Funeral services for Lewis F. McMullen, 85, who passed away on April 6, 2017, will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM in Dunns Creek Baptist Church, 1425 Starratt Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218, with Rev. Ken Westbrook and Rev. David Collins officiating. Interment will follow in Ferreira Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6-8 PM at Dunns Creek Baptist Church. Mr. McMullen was born in Jacksonville, Florida and was a lifelong resident. He was a charter member of Dunns Creek Baptist Church and a Deacon for 60 years. He was a retired veteran of the U.S. Army and the Florida Air National Guard retiring with the Rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was past Commander and Chaplain of VFW Post #11406. He also retired from the Duval County School Board. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, the late Ethel Fay McMullen; Survivors include his 2 daughters, Sharon McMullen and Kathleen Dyr (Robert); 1 son, Dr. Lewis F. McMullen Jr., (Pamela); 3 sisters, Freida Kinley (Bill), Martha Wilt (Joe), and Sandra McMullen; 5 grandsons, Adam (Krista), Drew (Brittany), Thomas , Nicholas, and Peter; 5 great-grandchildren.
