Mrs. Linda Mabel Hedding, age 74, of Starke passed away at her home, Thursday, January 1, 2015. She was born in Miami on October 9, 1940 to the late Curtis and Mabel Mary (Prevatt) Padgett and was a longtime resident of Starke. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Hedding had been a mail room clerk and Secretary in Classifications at the state prison. She had attended Starke First Baptist Church and Madison Street Baptist Church and enjoyed ceramics, clogging, antique shopping, and genealogy. Her brother Curtis Padgett had preceded her in death. Survivors are her husband of 53 years, Norman Hedding; four children, Michael Leo Hedding (Bonnie) of Keystone Heights, Alan Curtis Hedding (Tara) of Green Coe Springs, Michele Hedding (Tim) of Melbourne, and Tavia Lynn Frye (Richie) of OBrien; a sister, Brenda Ordway of MO, Lulu-May Gibson of FL, and several half siblings. Also left behind are her grandchildren, Justin, Cory, Renee, Abbigal, Carson, and Carolyn (Ryan), Kenny, Ashlie, Kyle, Morgan, Jayden, and Gabriel; great grandchildren, Kallie, Hunter, Wyatt, Rylin, Cyler, and Kyrstin. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Prevatt Cemetery with Wailon Hasting officiating. Arrangements are under the care of JONES-GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME, 620 E.
