Linda Wise

Mrs. Linda Marie Hutcheson Wise age 75, of Starke passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at Haven Hospice in Gainesville following a brief illness. She was born May 20, 1943, in Starke to Clarence and Edith (Conner) Hutcheson. Mrs. Wise graduated from Bradford High School in 1961 followed with the beginning of her career with the City of Starke. During her years of employment with the City of Starke, she worked various positions including Teller, Finance Director and ultimately becoming Starkes first female City Clerk. Linda ran three terms unopposed before deciding to retire. She enjoyed traveling and was known for always being on the go. Linda also enjoyed decorating and making arts and craft but most of all she loved being with her family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Carolyn Hutcheson Fuqua. Survivors include her husband of 54 years Wallace Wise and their two children Julee (John) Tinsler and Gary (Donna) Wise all of Starke. She was also known as "Granny" to Noah Tinsler, Paxon Wise and Jacob Wise whom she loved to the moon and back. Visitation for Mrs. Wise will be held Saturday, September 15, 2018, beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel and her memorial service starting at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Roman Alvarez officiating.
