Lori Elaine McLaughlin Auer, age 58, passed away January 27, 2022 in her home in Rutherfordton, NC of natural causes. Lori was preceded in death by her father James William McLaughlin, her mother Mary Haughey McLaughlin, and her brothers William James "Mickey" McLaughlin and James William "Jimmy" McLaughlin, Jr. She is survived by her children Geoffrey Michael Auer, Jr., James William Auer, and Maria Rose Auer and their father Geoffrey Michael Auer, Sr. She is also survived by her aunt Charlotta Razor "Aunt Mickey", sister Helen Douylliez, grandsons James Troy Auer and Luke Michael Auer, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lori was born August 15, 1963 in Green Cove Springs, FL where she grew up and later moved to the Carolinas. Lori spent most of her life caring for others through her job in nursing, caring for her mother during her last years, raising her children, caring for her beloved dogs, and being very involved in her grandchildrens lives. A visitation will be held Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 1:00pm followed by a funeral service at 2pm at the Helm-Gallagher Funeral Home at 1811 Idlewild Ave., Green Cove Springs, FL followed by burial in the Hickory Grove Cemetery.
