Obituary

Mr. Louin H. Redding age 99, of Lawtey passed away at his home on Sunday, September 23, 2012. Mr. Redding was born in Lawtey on February 18, 1913 to the late Henry and Celia (Wilkinson) and had served in the United States Army during WWII. Mr. Redding was a retired Barber, a lifelong member of the VFW, and a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church in Lawtey where he also was the Choir Director for many years. Preceding him in death was his first and second wives; Jewel and Cleo, daughters; Elaine Starling and Maxine Redding, granddaughter; Debbie Griffis, grandson; James Darrel, son-in-law; Jimmie Osteen, and seven brothers. Survivors are his wife of 13 years; Lillian (Camp)Redding, daughters; Norma Griffis and her husband Glenn of Glen St Mary, Judy Osteen of Lawtey, one brother; Arthur Redding (Minnie) of Lawtey, son-in-law James Starling of Lawtey, six grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. Viewing for Mr. Redding will be held at Evergreen Baptist Church in Lawtey on Tuesday September 25, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Ron Kimbrell officiating.
