Louis George KesslerDr. Louis George Kessler passed away peacefully on March 13, 2024, in Gainesville, Florida, at the age of 69. Lou was born in Miami Beach, Florida to Arthur and Myra Kessler, and grew up in Lehigh Acres. He was confident, caring, and athletic with a strong and outgoing personality. He was determined and witty, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.He was especially proud to have served in the United States Coast Guard Reserve for 6 years. While serving, he attended the University of South Florida, where he earned a degree in Zoology. He then received his PhD in Molecular and Population Genetics from the University of Georgia.Lou was an entrepreneur with a diverse professional career. He co-founded ChaoLogix Inc, a semiconductor company, before selling it to Arm Semiconductor and becoming its Senior Partner of Intellectual Property. He also worked in the areas of vaccine development and diabetes. Lou most recently acted as the Director of Intellectual Properties at Evren, a company dedicated to PTSD solutions. Beyond work, he found joy in hobbies such as fishing, softball, and weightlifting.Lou is survived by his beloved wife, Michelle, as well as Elizabeth (daughter), Meghan (daughter), Dashiel (son-in-law), Jacqueline (daughter), Luca (granddaughter), and Charles and Philip (brothers). Above all else, family was most important to him.A ceremony to honor Lou's life will be held at Forest Meadows Central on March 18, 2024 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to North Central Florida YMCA (in honor of Louis Kessler), in support of youth weightlifting and fitness.
