Ms. Clara Louise Prater, 84, of Jacksonville passed away April 7, 2012 at Community Hospice. Ms. Prater was born in Marion, OH on April 24, 1927 to the late Donald and Lurana (Higgins) Edler. She was of the Church of Christ Faith, a homemaker, and enjoyed painting. Prior to moving to Jacksonville Ms. Prater had been a longtime resident of the Keystone Heights area. Her husband Lester Lewis Prater had preceded her in death in 1972. Survivors are her two sons; Phillip Prater of Florahome, Evan Prater of Mattoon, IL, two daughters; Nina Downey of Collinsville, IL, Melanie Tindall of Starke, three brothers; Garry Edler Wakeman, OH, Roy Edler of Plymouth, OH, and Roger Edler of Marion, OH. Ms. Prater also leaves behind her devoted Partner of 40 years, Tommy Culbreth of Jacksonville, 6 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Mon. April 9, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bruce Armstrong officiating.
