Luana Mae
Golston
Mar 17, 1957 — Sep 21, 2025
In loving memory, we gather to celebrate the life of Luana Mae Golston, a gentle soul born on March 17, 1957, in Kansas, who graced our lives until her peaceful passing on September 21, 2025, in Gainesville, Florida. Luana, a cherished sister and beloved aunt, is survived by her brothers Walter and George, sister Laura, niece Jenifer, nephew Robert, sister-in-law Lynn, daughter-in-law Sherri, and brother-in-law Seth.
Luana possessed a magnetic personality, warm and inviting, always a joy to be around. Her spirit shone brightly, a beacon of kindness, slow to anger, and quick to offer her love and support to all. An artist at heart, she embraced the world through her passion for knitting, crocheting, and reading, crafting beauty with every stitch and sentence. With an unwavering passion for journalism, she sought the truth and reported it with grace.
Her faith as a devoted Catholic guided her journey, while her love for family was a steadfast anchor during all celebrations, holidays, and birthdays-a tradition that bound them together in laughter and joy. Luana was a dedicated precinct worker, ever engaged in the world of politics, and her compassion extended to the furry souls she adored: first cats, then dogs-a testament to her gentle heart for all living beings.
Always giving to a fault, Luana never judged a soul, leaving behind echoes of kindness, compassion, and a belief in a higher power. Her legacy will be remembered as one of a kind spirit, a light that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. As she would lovingly remind us, "I love you and will miss you; wish the best for you."
Funeral services to honor Luana's life will be held in the days to come, uniting family and friends in shared remembrance and gratitude for her presence among us. A celebration of her spirit will take place, as we gather on the 620 E Nona St, Starke, FL 32091, where her ashes will be lovingly laid to rest.
In honoring Luana, we will not only reflect on her life but also carry her memory within our hearts-an everlasting reminder to embrace love, kindness, and the beauty that surrounds us.
Luana was preceded in death by: Her Father, Eugene R. Golston,, Sargent Major US Army Retired, Mother, Luana M Harris Golsto, sister, Martha A. Golston, brother, Eugene R. Golston.
