Lucinda "Cindy" Prevatt Starling

Mrs. Lucinda "Cindy" Prevatt Starling age 75, of Raiford passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018, at Windsor Health and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. She was born August 28, 1943, in Waldo to Willie Louis and Maye (Youngblood) Prevatt and graduated from Gainesville High School in 1961. Cindy was a homemaker and a longtime resident of Raiford. She was a member of Johnstown Baptist Church and loved singing, reading books and working seek and find puzzles. She always looked forward to teaching small children in Sunday school at church. As she got older she also enjoyed coloring. In addition to her parents, Cindy was preceded in death by her son Kyle Starling in December 2016, a brother Louie Prevatt and sisters, Doris Prevatt and Dorene Prevatt Fulmer. She was also preceded in death by her nephew Rhett Fulmer and her niece Sissy Prevatt Survivors are her loving and devoted husband of 54 years Carlis Lamar Starling of Raiford and their daughter and her husband Kimberly and (Robert) Bach of Lake Butler. Also left behind are a brother Billy (Dot) Prevatt of DeLeon Springs and a sister Shebie (Lloyd) Dugger of Starke, her two granddaughters and grandson along with two great-granddaughters and great grandson who lovingly called her "Nanny". Also left are many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, October 2, 2018, from 4-7 p.m. in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 3, 2018 with Pastor Roger Worten officiating. Interment will be at Dedan Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please donate a book to the Union County Library or to a library of your choice.
