Mrs. Lucy Swartley Burchell, 83 of Glen St. Mary, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2022. Mrs. Burchell was born in Jacksonville to parents Phares and Norma (Wilson) Swartley. Lucy worked many years at Ed Fraser Hospital as an internal auditor and held a degree from UNF and attended World Wide Church of God. She enjoyed her cats, gardening vegetables, crocheting and making beautiful doilies, and was an avid Gator fan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Burchell. Survivors are her son, Thomas Burchell (Jean) of Glen St. Mary, daughter, Carrie Terpstra (Herman) of Bellevue, NE, and was loving called "Granny" by eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2022 in the Hickory Grove Cemetery. Formal attire is optional.
