Lucy Balestrini Tindall

Lucy Balestrini Tindall passed away peacefully in her sleep Monday evening, January 15, 2018 at her home in Jacksonville, Florida. She was 99 years old. Mrs. Tindall was a native of Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania and lived in Jacksonville since 1946. Prior to moving to Jacksonville she worked for United Aircraft in Connecticut during WWII building F4U fighters for the Marine Corps. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Douglas Campbell Tindall, and survived by her four children, Robert Merrill Tindall of Jacksonville, Marilyn Tindall Goucher of Oxford, GA, Monica Elaine Tindall of Jacksonville, and Garry Preston Tindall of Oxford, GA; a sister, Mary Schembari of Milford, CT, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and very many nieces and nephews. After raising her children, Lucy began a career as a beautician, until she retired to spend her time gardening and traveling. She visited all of the lower 48 states and several foreign countries. Lucy was very proud to be a first generation Italian American. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend and neighbor known for her generous spirit, she will be missed dearly by all. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday January 20, 2018 in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Blvd. S., with Hospice Chaplain, Mike Campbell, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 PM until 7 PM Friday at the funeral home.
