Luella McBride Johnson, 99 of Gainesville, Florida passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 29, 2023 in Miami, Florida. Luella was born May 22, 1923 in Chiefland, FloridaShe earned her bachelor's degree from Bethune-Cookman College in Elementary Education. Upon graduation she applied her teaching skills for Vocational Cosmetology and Primary School in Broward and Dade County.Luella is survived by her son, Tony Johnson; daughter, Chelva Walker Wilson; grandsons, Kevin Walker and Tony Johnson II; granddaughter, Shelby Johnson; and a host of family members and friends.She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and all eight of her older siblings.Funeral services will be celebrated on Saturday, February 11th at 1:00 pm at Forest Meadows Mausoleum Chapel; 4100 NW 39th Ave. Gainesville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.Memorial contributions may be made in Luella's memory to the Gainesville Ronald McDonald House.
