Luther Gray Peoples, age 89, of Keystone Heights, Florida passed away at Orange Park Medical Center after a short illness. He was born on April 21, 1937 in Henderson, North Carolina to Tollie and Nonnie (Eubanks) Peoples who predeceased him.

Luther was a Vietnam Veteran who first started his military career in the U.S. Air Force for two years, but soon moved to the U.S. Navy for an additional 22 years where he was Honorably Discharged. There he achieved the rank of Storekeeper Chief (SKC).

He was a member of the American Legion Post 202 in Keystone Heights, Florida where he enjoyed playing poker with his friends.

Left behind is his wife of 66 years Loretta (Orr) Peoples whom he married on July 16, 1960 in Reno, Nevada; two sons Larry Peoples, Sr. and Lee Peoples of Keystone Heights. In addition, one son, Louis Peoples, of California who predeceased him.

Also left behind are 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren along with a host of extended family members and friends that will miss him dearly.

Following the wishes of the deceased, no funeral services or memorials will be held. Cremation and private interment will be at the Keystone Heights Cemetery (Old Section).
