Mr. Lyle Robert NorthrupMr. Lyle Robert Northrup age 85, of Starke passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2011 in Shands at The University of Florida. Mr. Northrup was born on August 21, 1925 in Breckenridge, MI to the late Harold and Esther Rhoads Northrup. He served in the United States Navy during World War II, and the Korean Conflict, retiring as a Commander. After his navy retirement he worked as a Roofing Contractor and was a member of the American Legion. Survivors are his wife Ellen Pumford Northrup of Starke; children: Duane Northrup of Vancouver, WA; Diana Sherris of Crystal River; Glen Northrup of Jacksonville; Keith Northrup of Starke; Vonda Barclay of Oxford, MI; siblings:Dick Northrup of Midland, MI; Dorine Smith of Pettisville, OH; Juanita Etzley and Jeanette Leonard both of Saint Louis, MI; Carol Neitzke of Wheeler, MI; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren. The family will have a memorial visitation in their home at 810 Parkwood Place, Starke, FL 32091 on Saturday, January 29, 2011 from 1 oclock to 6 oclock.
