Alachua, FlMae Catherine Thomas, age 86 passed away peacefully February 19, 2014 at NFRMC. Mrs. Thomas was a member of New Jerusalem Church of God and served faithfully until her health failed.She is survived by two daughters, Virginia L. Bullard Gainesville, FL; Althea Johnson (Roosevelt) Lacrosse; one son James Thomas (Aggie) Gainesville, FL ; one sister Nancy Manning Orlando, FL; 2 sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law. 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren, a host of, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her husband James Thomas, Sr. 1 brother and 4 sisters.Viewing will be at the Forest MeadowsFuneral Home Chapel, 725 NW 23rd Avenue, Gainesville on Friday, February 28, 2014 from 4 - 6 p.m. and at the Church Of God In Christ located at 15537 NW 141st Street, Alachua, FL on Saturday March 1, 2014 one hour prior to service and during the processional.
