Malcom C. "Mac" Williams

Malcolm "Mac" C. Williams age 81 of Florahome passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020 in Palatka. Mac was born in Waycross, GA to the late Silas and Margaret "Harris" Williams on February 26, 1938. For many years Mac worked as a Meter Reader for the City of Jacksonville. Mac was an avid Gator fan, no matter the sport. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, feeding wildlife, playing softball for the Anchorage league in the Army where he won multiple trophies as a pitcher, and spending time with his church family at Silver Lake Missionary Baptist Church. The Williams family would like to thank the team members from Mederi Caretenders, Putnam Medical Center and staff, and Haven Hospice for the care they provided Mr. Williams.He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and three sisters. Survivors include his wife of 28 years Louvenia Williams of Florahome; children, Donna (Richard) Roark of Jacksonville, Kelly Lynch of Interlachen, Eric Williams of Palatka, Jerry (Cheryl) Glance of Sacramento, CA, and Angie (Mark) Cruise of Florahome; sisters, Ada Lee Whindham of North Carolina and Deidra Cox of Jacksonville; brother-in-law Virgil Harper of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Ryan Roark, Amanda (Chris) Robinson, Krista (Jody) Farley, Sarah (Cody) Westall, James Cruise, Alyan and Anson Williams; great-grandchildren, Rowan Roark and Grady James Farley; God daughters, Dora Hampshire, Denise Hutchinson, and Amy Conley; and special friends, Jimmy and Cheryl Carter and Peggy Conley. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel officiated by Virgil Harper and Pastor Phillip Wilkinson. A viewing will be held prior beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Lawtey Cemetery with military honors.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the building fund at Silver Lake Baptist Church: P.O.
