Marcelene Gloria Campbell

Ms. Marcelene Gloria Campbell age 81, of Hampton passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Hampton on October 4, 1935 to the late James Brackston and Clifford Willie (Dennison) Prevatt. Marcelene has lived most of her life in Hampton, having moved back in 1968 after living in Virginia and Washington D.C. for many years. She retired from Tacachale where she worked as a Personnel Tech. She loved her family and was affectionately known as "Maw Maw" and "Gran Ma" to her beloved grandchildren.Marcelene was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Prevatt. She is survived by her children, Charlene Diane Campbell of Hampton, Marlene Victoria Gladieux of Hampton, and Randall Ellis Campbell (Mary Margaret Giannini) of Jacksonville; four grandchildren, Keith Griffis, Diana Griffis, Tiffany Gladieux, and Brien Gladieux; and two great grandchildren, Savannah Newman and Marcus Todd. She is also survived by numerous other family members and friends.The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at DeWitt C. Jones Chapel. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2017 at DeWitt C. Jones Chapel with The Rev. Bert Daly officiating. A private family burial at Prevatt Cemetery will follow.
