Mrs. Margaret Davidson Boon age 91 of Keystone Heights passed away Wednesday April 3, 2013 at the Willey Manor Assisted Living Facility in Keystone. Mrs. Boone was born in Hickory, North Carolina on November 16, 1921 to the late James Greive and Lois (Shuford) Davidson. She was a 1942 graduate of The Florida State College for Women receiving her Bachelor of Arts Degree. In 1973 Mrs. Boone had become a resident of Keystone Heights moving from Portland, Oregon. Prior to her first retirement, Mrs. Boone was a Librarian Assistant working at Southside Elementary School. Following her this retirement she began volunteering for the Keystone Heights Public Library rebinding books; this would lead her into another employment from which she retired a second time. Mrs. Boone was a member of the Faith Presbyterian Church of Melrose. She was well known for her basket weaving which had won her numerous awards and recognition at festivals. She loved reading and gardening immensely, especially growing her own herbs and vegetables. Her husband Merton Lucas Boone had preceded her in death in 1977. Survivors are a daughter Lorilyn Boone of Fairbanks, Alaska, and a son Daniel Davidson Boone of Keystone Heights. Graveside services will be held on Monday April 8, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Keystone Heights Cemetery with Dr. Glenn Dickson officiating.
