Mrs. Margaret (Post) Hopkins, 92 of Green Cove Springs, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022 peacefully at her home with her family at her side. Mrs. Hopkins was born June 9, 1930 in Carrolton County, Georgia to parents Hershel V. and Ruby P. (Robertson) Post. In her free time, Margaret enjoyed sewing, quilting, and gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Douglas Hopkins and her granddaughter, Amy Lynn Wertz. Survivors are her children, Revonda Beasley (George) of North Carolina, Deborah Wilcox (John) of Jacksonville, Charlotte "Sam" Wertz of Green Cove Springs, Paran Hopkins (the late Bonnie) of Oviedo, and brother, Zachary Post (Joan) of Penney Farms. She was lovingly called "Memaw" by her grandchildren, Paran A., Oren, Julianne, Adam, Tara, Colin, Jessie, Cassidy, Zachary, and her 2 great grandchildren, Jayden and Kylee. The family will hold a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2022 in the Helm-Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel, 1811 Idlewild Avenue, SR 16, Green Cove Springs. Burial will be private at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
