Margaret Lott Smith

Margaret Lott Smith born February 14, 1928 in Douglas GA passed away peacefully on January 16, 2017 at home. Married James A Smith September 12, 1947 in James Island, SC. Survivors are: daughter, Linda Margaret Smith and son, James A (Sue Howard) Smith Jr, grandchildren: Jessica A Smith of Sykeville, MD and Meghan Sue Smith (Jordan) Pieniazek of Pleasant Gap, PA, great grandchildren: Michael Austin and James Brody Pieniazek of Pleasant Gap PA. She was preceded in death by her loving husband and parents Thomas Henry and Ruby Mable (Palmer) Lott. Margaret moved to Florida 1961 with family and became a permanent resident of Melrose in 1971. She was an accomplished artist for over 80 years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband of 56 years. They visited 48 states, Europe, Central America and the Caribbean. She loved living on Lake Santa Fe in Melrose. She attended and was a member of the Keystone United Methodist Church and was a member of the Col Samuel Elbert Chapter, NSDAR.There will be a private family ceremony at a future date.
