Mrs. Margaret " Midge" Brown McCrea 90 of Starke passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at Windsor Health and Rehabilitation in Starke. She was born May 23, 1932, in Brooker to Henry and Thelma (Thomas) Martin. Mrs. McCrea was a in home health caregiver and member of Northwest Baptist Church in Gainesville. She enjoyed traveling and being outdoors fishing and boating; she was also known as the "Social Butterfly" at the nursing home. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Bill McCrea and a son in-law Donald Elder. Survivors are her children Carolyn Elder of Kingsley Lake and Doug Brown (Lori) of High Springs along with a sister Gayle Tyer of Starke. She was also lovingly called "Grandma from Marco " by grandchildren Carl Elder, Jody Durban, Timothy Brown and Andrew Brown along with great grandchildren Enoch, Leah, Issac, Gabriella, Caemyn, Nyxson, Oakland, and Eliza. Viewing for Mrs. McCrea will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 7, 2022, in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel with funeral services beginning at 12:00 p.m. with Reverend Tom Tyer officiating.
