Margaret Mary Williams

Mrs. Margaret Mary Williams age 93, of Starke, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 and closed her pretty blue eyes for the last time on earth. She was born in Starke to the late Roy and Annie (Sweat) Tomlinson on March 24, 1926. Margaret was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church of Starke and prior to retirement worked in retail sales. She was a very kind Southern lady with a servants heart, always helping and caring for others. Family and friends were her passion and delight. She enjoyed hosting dinners at her home and was well known in the community for her delicious homemade rolls. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren, at the familys summer home on Kingsley Lake. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving first husband, Lt. Herman Blankenship who was killed during the Korean War in 1950, second husband, Edwin (PeeWee) Williams, son, Larry Williams and brothers, Walter, Leroy and Ronnie Tomlinson. Survivors include her children, Barbara (John) Reddish, Wayne (Pat) Blankenship and Lamar (Josie) Williams all of Starke, seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Also left are her siblings, Martell Jackson of Orange Park, Winfred (Geraldine) Tomlinson, of Starke, sister-in-law, Stephanie Tomlinson of Starke, along with many nieces, nephews, friends and two wonderful caregivers, Rebecca Lovvorn and Dawn Gunter. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 1, 2019 from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 noon at the First Christian Church of Starke with funeral services beginning at 12:00 P.M. with Pastor Tom Moore and Pastor Charles Soper officiating. Interment will follow in Crosby Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has requested contributions be made to: Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Blvd., Gainesville, FL 32606.
