Margaret L. Zinkel

Mrs. Margaret Louise Zinkel age 89 of Melrose passed away Sunday, July 7, 2019, in Palatka following a brief illness. She was born April 11, 1930, in Macon, Georgia to the late John and Iva (Bailey) Blasingame. Mrs. Zinkel was a homemaker and in 1968 she moved from Miami to Melrose where she had attended Eliam Baptist Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed find and seek word puzzles. She also enjoyed housework, being on the farm and working in the yard keeping it "neat". In addition to her parents, Mrs. Zinkel was also preceded in death by her husband Ronald O. Zinkel, Sr. Her survivors are three children Ronald "J.R." Zinkel (Kimberly) and Karen Brown all of Melrose and Mary Hardy (Jae) of Rockingham, North Carolina and a sister Norma Thompson of Keystone Heights along with a niece and a nephew. She was also lovingly called "grandma" by eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Zinkel will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 11, 2019, in the Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Roger Pursley officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. A private interment will be at Eliam Cemetery in Melrose.
