Williston - Marguerite Hathcock Collins died Wednesday 3-23-2016 at Select Specialty Hospital in Gainesville following a brief illness. She was 91 years old.Mrs. Collins was born in Punta Gorda, FL and moved to Williston in 1961 from Miami. She and her husband of 54 years, Walter Collins, owned and operated Badcock Furniture Store in Williston for more than 20 years. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Williston. She enjoyed playing golf, fishing, bingo...but most of all she was devoted to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.She joins her husband in heaven and they are survived by their 5 children: Lydia Cox (Warren), Gail Collins, Jill Lewis, Eve Pallone (Joseph), and Walter Collins Jr. along with their 13 children and 12 great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends at Forest Meadows Funeral Home, 725 NW 23rd Avenue, Gainesville from 6-8 PM Monday, March 28. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Holy Family Catholic Church in Williston at 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 29. Following the Mass, she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in Forest Meadows Memorial Park East in Gainesville.
