Marguerite T. Ricks, "Sister Baby", 98, of Fort White, Florida, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025. Marguerite was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on May 26, 1926 to George and Mattie Todd. Sister Baby was married to Ernest Ricks for 55 years.She graduated from Dunbar High School where she received a high school diploma. Sister Baby worked as a Data Entry Specialist for the Federal Communications Commission. She enjoyed knitting, reading, cooking, sewing, crafts, playing the piano and organ.She was ordained as a nun of the 3rd Order of Our Lady of Mt Carmel also known as the Lay Carmelites.She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mattie Todd; husband, Ernest C. Ricks, Jr.; son, Ernest C. Ricks, III; daughter, Helen Owens; and son, Harry Ricks.She is survived by daughters, Dennielle Hosang of Bowie, Maryland, Beverly Whitner of Lake City, Florida, and Lillian Ricks-Allen of Fort White, Florida; son, Timothy Ricks of Tampa, Florida, and Anthony Ricks (Sharon) of Austin, Texas; sister, Frances Nichols of Covington, Georgia; niece, Colette Hagan (Gabe) of Covington, Georgia; and nephew, Al Nichols of Covington, Georgia; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in Marguerites memory to St. Jude Hospital for Children, online at https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html or by mail to 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
