Mrs. Marilyn June Sorensen age 62 of Keystone Heights passed away Thursday, October 10, 2013 in Gainesville following a brief illness. Mrs. Sorensen was born in Hazelton, Pennsylvania on January 7, 1951. She began her 20 year career as a school bus driver in Pennsylvania for the Luzerne County School System and continued her career as a school bus driver with the Clay County School System where she was also a teachers assistant for five years before her retirement. Mrs. Sorensen was a member of the Keystone United Methodist Church. She loved butterflies, camping, and taking her yearly trips with her husband Terry to the Daytona Raceway, going to the cabin in Pennsylvania. Her daughter Kimberly Matukaitus had preceded her in death in 2011. Survivors are her husband of 15 years, Terry Sorensen, and two children, Sally Pitcairn of Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania and Gary Matukaitus, Jr. of Keystone Heights. Also left behind are her siblings, Tommy, Bobby, JoAnne and Pat; seven grandchildren, Alyssa, Emily, Timothy, Shyann, Kyle, Anthony, Ashley, and one great granddaughter Ivey Faith.
