Marilyn C Stacy, 89 Of Green Cove Springs

Marilyn C. Stacy, 89, passed away September 5, 2016 after a short illness. Marilyn was born on February 25, 1927 in Schenectady, New York to the late Chauncey and Verna Murphy. Marilyn was an adventurous traveler, great seamstress, and enjoyed dressing her daughters in their youth. She fulfilled her childhood dream of owning her own Country Store and enjoyed the daily interaction with her customers. She had a strong conviction in her faith and never met a stranger. Marilyn is survived by her 5 daughters, Carolyn Miller (Jim), Cheryl Phillips, Colleen Sicina, Catherine Jerrell, and Marilyn Fairleig; her two siblings, Francis A. Murphy and Sandra J. McInerney; step-father to her daughters, Ray Jarrell; six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Francis H. Handy, and 2 sisters, Nora DiLaura and Jean O'Dell. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Green Cove Springs.
