Marion Ernest "Jr" Stebbins

Mr. Marion Ernest "J.R." Stebbins, Jr. age 92, of Keystone Heights passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017 at Estelles House - Marion County Hospice in Ocala. J.R. was born on June 8, 1924 in Flint, Michigan to the late Marion Ernest and Nina (Rohrer) Stebbins.He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and retired from General Motors after 20 years of service. He was a member of the VFW and loved farming.J.R. was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ida Mae (Pinner) Stebbins in 2011. He was also preceded in death by his children: Dan Stebbins and Barbara Stebbins, stepsons: James F. Merritt and Michael Merritt. He is survived by his great niece, Mina Lilley of Lapeer, Michigan; stepdaughters, Nettie Lambert of, North Carolina, and Georgia Merritt of Keystone Heights; stepson, Robert Merritt of Jacksonville; stepdaughter-in-law, Genie Merritt of Jacksonville; step grandchildren, Alivia Gibson (Suesan), William Merritt (Lindsey), and Laurel Lambert; and step great grandchildren, Brianna Bennett, Christopher Bennett, Isabelle Gibson (Tanis), and Emerson Merritt. He is also survived by several other family members and friends.A Celebration of J.R.s Life will be held 11:30 AM on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Gadara Baptist Church, 6779 County Road 315C, Keystone Heights, FL 32656 with Pastor Shawn House officiating.
