Marion Kelly Williams, age 75, passed away on February 7, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on November 15, 1938 in Mill Creek, North Carolina. A veteran of the United States Navy, he retired as Senior Chief Machinist Mate in 1974. After his military service, Kelly earned a second retirement from Ingersol/Dresser Rand as a Field Service Repair Supervisor. During retirement, he enjoyed a hobby of woodworking which included making many items of furniture and keepsakes for his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Margaret Green Williams of Patterson, GA; son, Marion Kelly Williams, Jr. of Lake Mary, FL; daughter, Brenda K. Williams Santalla (Mark D.) of Hartsville, SC; grandchildren, Stephanie Santalla Hester, David Kelly Williams, Jeffrey Santalla, Michael Williams, Carmen Williams; great-grandchildren, Logan Hester, Jordan Kelly Hester, Sullivan Santalla and Aleah Williams; sister, Betty Guthrie of Morehead City, NC; brother, Joseph Williams of Hertford, NC; niece, Kathy Williams Trujillo of Suwannee, FL and numerous other nieces and nephews.Mr. Williams is preceded in death by his mother, Annie Small Williams; father, Walter Williams; sister, Naomi Norris Quinn; brothers, Tull E. Williams and Fairleigh A Williams; sister, Magdalene Knox.Friends and family will gather at Forest Meadows Funeral Home for visitation at 10am on Wednesday, February 12, 2014.
