Marjorie Ray Lahnen

Funeral services for Mrs. Marjorie Ray Lahnen, 86, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Boulevard, South with Rev. Michael E. Ellis of St. Francis In The Field Episcopal Church officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Born November 7, 1931 in Glennville, Georgia to Sula and Taft Waters, Mrs. Lahnen died Friday, October 5, 2018 in Jacksonville. She was retired from the Tax Advocates Office of the Internal Revenue Service; a member of Glynlea Grace United Methodist Church; the Daughters of the Nile; the Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 28; and the DAV Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her first husband of forty five years, Mr. Albert W. Ray, Sr. and her second husband of eighteen years, Mr. William Lahnen, Sr. Survivors include three sons, Albert William (Annie) Ray, Jr. of Jacksonville, James Robert (Emily) Ray of Fernandina, FL; and Matthew (Mary) Allen Ray of St. Augustine, FL; two sisters, Sylvia (Jerry) Hollis of Jesup, GA and Joye Elizabeth Letourneau of Pooler, GA; three step-daughters, Sharon (John) Mills, Jean (Ken) Stout both of Jacksonville, and Dianne (Jim) Ross of Chattanooga, TN; a step-son, William R. (Barbara) Lahnen, Jr. of Jacksonville; 19 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
