Marjorie Minnick Whitley, 90, passed away August 9th, 2021. Born in Gainesville, FL to parents S. Fulton and Martha Harold Minnick, Margie lived in Gainesville most of her life. She attended the University of Florida, later working and retiring there as a graphic artist. After her true calling was fulfilled with the work, and whether at home in the gardens of her creation, or designing clothes and costumes for family and friends or ornamenting the spaces used for spirited gatherings, her resources and imagination were always delightfully present. This energy, this appreciation for things well done, was taught to her children, and consistently, by her natural example, and she helped them in any way possible. For this and much more, they are keenly thankful. Margie was fortunate to have good friends, among them Mrs. Betty Jean, all with whom she enjoyed many outings and trips to the beach or to the mountains. Her eye for detail persisted, ever through Alzheimer's, and her strength and fortitude stayed well in the forefront of her actions. Margie's spirit and tenacity and willingness to help others is remembered, appreciated, and loved. May she rest nicely with the same comfort she so glowingly provided to so many others. Margie was preceded in death by her parents, her husbandRaymond, former husband James Niblack, and her son Richard Niblack. She is survived by her grandchildren Matt, Justin, and Jenna Niblack, son Jimmy, mother-in-law June, and daughters-in-law Susan and Gale.
