Mark Metz

Mr. Mark Metz age 68 of Melrose passed away Monday, July 22, 2019, at Kindred Hospital in Green Cove Springs. He was born December 15, 1950, in Buffalo, New York to the late Thomas "Tom" and Ruth (Michelin) Metz. Following seminary college Mark enlisted with the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam and Persian Gulf Wars. He retired from the Navy after twenty two years of dedicated service as a Cryptologic Analysist. Mark was also of the Catholic Faith and an avid fisherman who loved spending time with his family. His survivors are his wife of twenty three wonderful years Maria (Diaz) Metz of Melrose; three children Philip Metz (Melissa) of Middleburg, Monica Metz of Gainesville and Chrissy Metz of California. Also left behind is a brother Tom Metz and father and mother in-law Maximino and Helga Diaz all of Melrose. Mark was also loving called "Grandpa" by his three grandchildren Logan, Lawson and Brayden. A memorial service for Mark will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 29, 2019, at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. Arrangements are by JONES-GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME, 340 E.
