Marshall Julian Griggs Funeral Mass for Marshall Julian Griggs, 87, will be held at 12:30p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2014 in Blessed Trinity Catholic Church with Father Jhon Guarnizo, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:00p.m. Friday, January 3, 2014 in Blessed Trinity Catholic Church with Father Lam Nguyen officiating. Born March 24, 1926 in Jacksonville, Florida, Mr. Griggs died Friday, December 27, 2013 in Orange Park, Florida. He was a graduate of The University of Miami of Ohio; was a retired Captain of the Red Cross Life Saving Corps at Jacksonville Beach, Florida; and served as an Aerial Photographer in the United States Army Air Force during World War II. Mr. Griggs was a retired Switch Conductor from CSX Railroad, and a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church. He was predeceased by his wife, Lenore Griggs and his son, Marshall R. Griggs. Survivors include his daughter, Mary C. Griggs and a brother, Walter P. (Mary Helen) Griggs, both of Jacksonville; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Blessed Trinity Catholic Church or to Haven Hospice. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of George H.
