Martha "Meme" Elizabeth MacDonald Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Meme Elizabeth MacDonald, 91, will be held at 1:00pm Monday, March 18th in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Boulevard, South, with Rev. Gee Alexander officiating. Entombment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Born February 19, 1922 in Jacksonville, FL, Mrs. MacDonald died Wednesday, March 13, 2013. She was a retired PBX Operator from Shands Jacksonville and a member of All Saints Episcopal Church. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas Roland MacDonald, a retired Lt. JFRD. Survivors include a son, Thomas Wayne (Susan) MacDonald, Sr. of Jacksonville Beach; three grandsons, Thomas Wayne (Shelbi) MacDonald, Jr., of Ponte Vedra, Bryan Scott (Wendy) MacDonald of Neptune Beach, and Steven Patrick (Ling) MacDonald of San Francisco; four great-grandchildren, Colby and Merrick MacDonald, Brenli and Micah MacDonald; and a nephew, Roland (Virginia) Wolfe. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm until 4:00pm, at the funeral home, on Sunday. Meme touched the hearts of her family and many friends over the years and will always be remembered for her kind heart, bright blue eyes and her infectious smile.
