Mrs. Martha Loucille Lucy Alvarez Mizell, 81 passed away at her home on Saturday December 25, 2010. Mrs. Mizell was born in Starke on February 28, 1929 to the late Alonzo L. and Annie (Sapp) Alvarez and was the owner and operator of Mizells Beauty Shop in Starke for many years. Mrs. Mizell had been a lifelong resident of the Starke and Keystone Heights area, and a member of the Keystone Heights Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Ben Mizell and their daughter, Pamela Mizell Poppell Thomas. Her survivors are her daughters, Martha Ann Mizell of Keystone Heights and Pattie Hulon of Melrose; 5 grandchildren; Virginia Hallonquist and Benjamine Hallonquist both of Keystone Heights, Christopher Poppell, Kyle Poppell, and Taylor Poppell all of Melrose, and 1 great grandchild Jasmyn Mizell. A memorial service for Mrs. Mizell will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 2:30 P.M. in the Keystone Heights Presbyterian Church with Pastor Brad Williams officiating. Burial will be at the Keystone Heights Cemetery. In lieu for flowers the family is asking for contributions to please be made to the Haven Hospice, 6400 St. Johns Ave., Palatka, FL 32177.
