Marthann Schaub Blatz

Marthann Schaub Blatz died on January 19, 2018 at the McGraw Hospice Center. She died one day shy of her 95th birthday. She was looking forward to celebrating her birthday with family but Jesus called her home to celebrate with Him. "Nana" as she was affectionately called by her family was predeceased by her parents Elmer and Amelia Schaub, her brother Bob and three sons, James, Robert and Christopher. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 75 years, Leo, her daughter Patti Hoysa, her son John Blatz, 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. "Nana" was born, raised and educated in Indianapolis, Indiana. After her marriage to Leo in 1943 she moved with him to New Jersey, Louisiana, Brazil, England, Libya and Florida as he was transferred with Exxon. She was an extraordinary homemaker who doted on her family with endless love and affection. She taught by her example the true meaning of being Christs disciple. She never had an unkind word for anyone and she will be deeply missed.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday January 25, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 10472 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL with Fr. Wm. Kelly presiding. A viewing and visitation will be held, beginning at 9:00 a.m., before the Mass in the church. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, 4535 Main St., Jacksonville, FL.
