Obituary

Mr. Marvin Elmer Rosier age 83, of Lawtey passed away Sunday, December 28, 2008 at Shands at Starke following a brief illness. Mr. Rosier was born on June 2, 1925 to James and Neta Sykes Rosier, and was a lifelong area resident. He attended Evergreen Baptist Church in Lawtey, served on the Lawtey City Council for many years, and was a member of the American Legion. Mr. Rosier was the owner/operator of Rosier Nursery Garden Center, and Rosier Monuments, worked for the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier for over 10 years, and served in the United States Army during World War II. Survivors are: his wife of 66 years Louise Ross Rosier of Lawtey; daughter: Bonnie Johns of Jacksonville; son: Steven Rosier of Lawtey; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at JONES-GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME, 514 E. Nona Street, Starke, FL on Tuesday, December 30th from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at 1:00 PM in DeWitt C. Jones Chapel with Rev. Ron Kimberell officiating. Interment will follow in Crosby Lake Cemetery.
