Mary Magolene "Madge" Akridge

Mrs. Mary Magolene "Madge" Padgett Akridge age 80, of Starke went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 following an extended illness. Madge was born on December 11, 1934 in Lawtey to the late Vernie and Eutha (Scully) Padgett and was a lifelong resident of Bradford County. She was a longtime member of the River of Life Church of God and loved working in her flowers. She was first and foremost a homemaker, but did work in a grocery store part-time. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands Fred William Wimpy and Edward Washington Akridge and a sister Shirley Padgett. Survivors are: her sons, Richard Wimpy (Kim) of Starke, Bernie Akridge (Korinne) of Marietta, GA, sisters: Sandra Newman (James) of Archer, Patricia Wilkinson of Raiford, Judy Davis (Rick) of Alachua, Elisa Leach of Johnstown, brother: Craig Padgett (Toni) of Fleming Island. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the RIVER OF LIFE CHURCH OF GOD on Saturday morning October 24, 2015 at 11 oclock with Pastor Alton Coleman and Pastor Lester Austin officiating.
