Mary Lee Allen age 91, of Hampton passed away Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Haven Hospice, Roberts Care Center in Palatka. She was born October 15, 1922 in Starke to the late Daniel W. and Essie E. (Minton) Johnson and was a graduate of Bradford High School class of 1941. Upon her retirement in 1972, Mrs. Allen relocated to Hampton, to be near her aging parents and family. She had been a resident of Santa Barbara, CA since 1949.She was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Hampton. Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, John X. Allen and three siblings, Geraldine Morgan, Dorothy Williams and Francis Broome. She is survived by her three children, Glenda Gayle Jenkins (Eugene) of Keystone Heights, Steven Lee Allen (Sara) of Sacramento, CA and Maija Annette Michaels (George) of Dardenne Prairie, MO; one sister, June Haddock of Hampton, along with six grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Allen will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 5, 2014 in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel in Starke with the viewing beginning at 10:00 a.m. Dr. J.G.
