It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Florence Benton, age 87, who peacefully departed this life on February 21, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. Mary was born on April 15, 1937, in White Springs, Florida, and was a beloved member of her family and community.Mary dedicated her life to her family as a devoted homemaker, creating a warm and loving environment for her loved ones. She is survived by her cherished husband, Bert Benton Jr.; her sons, Jim Benton (Kristi), Bert (Durell) Benton III ( Mary Irene) , and Patrick Benton (Terri); and her sister, Martha Hunt, 8 grandchildren. Mary will be deeply missed by her family and all those who had the privilege to know her.A funeral service to honor Mary's life will be held 11 am March 1, 2025, at Southside Methodist Church, 3120 Hendricks Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32207. The family invites friends and loved ones to gather in remembrance of Mary and to celebrate her remarkable life. A reception will be held in the Family Life Center at Southside Methodist Church.Mary's legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew her.
