Obituary

Mary Louise Bond, 86, of Starke, Florida, went home to Jesus on March 9, 2024. Mary Louise was born on October 27, 1937, in Towson, Maryland to Wilbur T. and Louise Stewart and was raised in Maryland and spent her summers in Spring Hope NC on her grandparents farm. Being raised near Baltimore, previous home of the Baltimore Colts and the home of the Baltimore Orioles, she became an avid sports fan and watched all types of sports, with a special love of horse racing, never missing the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes or the Belmont Stakes. Mary Louise moved to Florida and settled in New Smyrna Beach and would remain there until 2007 when she moved to Starke, Florida. Mary Louise worked in banking at the Bank of New Smyrna Beach, Southeast Bank and then moved on to life insurance sales with Liberty National Insurance. Mary Louise was a member of the First Baptist Church of Waldo where she enjoyed working with the Ladies Challenger Circle on many service and mission projects. She enjoyed bird watching, baking, and reading but most of all, spending time with her cat, Sterling. Preceded in death by her parents Wilbur T. and Lousie Stewart, sons David Wiggins and Richard Bond and best friend Janice Biggerstaff and her beloved cat Sterling. She is survived by her daughter Kelly Dugger (Travis), son Brian Bond, brother Michael J. Stewart, grandchildren Jessica Knowlton (Josh), Phillip Bond (Aimee), Jenna Fowler (Michael), Buddy Dugger, Taylor Bond, four great-grandchildren, and two nieces, friend and companion Emma Diggs. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Waldo on Saturday, March 16th. Family will receive visitors at 10:30AM with the service following at 11:00AM. There will be a luncheon to follow in the Family Life Center at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Baptist Church of Waldo Womens Ministry for Operation Christmas Child. PO Box 216, Waldo, FL 32694.
