Mrs. Mary Inez Breeden, age 87 a longtime resident of the Melrose area passed away Saturday, August 19, 2023, at North Florida Hospital in Gainesville. She was born December 19, 1935, in Lumber City, Georgia to the late Melvin and Ida Mae (Young) Silas. Mrs. Breeden retired from Atkins Technology Inc. as a purchasing manager. She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church and enjoyed being outside working in the yard, growing flowers, and fishing. Mrs. Breeden leaves behind her loving and dedicated husband of nearly 48 years Jim Breeden of Melrose; children Charles William Breeden (Mia) of Daleville, Alabama, Terry Ruth Stidham (DeWayne) of High Springs, James Michael Breeden (Ruth) of Palm Bay and Theresa Webster (Ron Strzykalski) of Gainesville along with her brother Gary Silas (Darlene) of Mico. She was lovingly called "Grandma" by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at North Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with interment to follow at North Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
