Mary Ruth Elledge

Mary Ruth Dillard Elledge passed away Thursday, November 8, 2018 in Orange Park. She was born 90 years ago in Ingomar, Mississippi to Cordelia Elizabeth Dillard and Owen Wayne Dillard. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack, of 69 years and beloved son, Steven, who passed away March 13, 2017. She is survived by a second son, Jefferson (Jeff) Dillard Elledge. Friends and family will long remember her loving ways and joyful attitude. She embodied Southern traditional values. Ruth was a tireless supporter of Grace Episcopal Church of Orange Park. She loved one project there especially, The Waste Not, Want Not Program. She was a past president of her Garden Circle, The Humming Birds, a member of long standing of the Orange Park Womans Club and a member of The Friday Musicals. She and her husband traveled extensively both in this country and abroad. She attended Ole Miss University of Mississippi where she met her husband Jack who was enrolled there in a Navy Officer Candidate School. She was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Grace Episcopal Church, 245 Kingsley Avenue Orange Park, FL 32073 with Father Patrick Soule officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of any flowers, please make donations in her memory to Grace Episcopal Church of Orange Park, 245 Kingsley Avenue Orange Park, FL 32073. Its very worthy! My Mother has admonished me. Let there be no mourning at the bar when I get out to the sea. I have had a wonderful life and now look forward to meeting God face to face.
