Mary Banes Freeman Funeral services for Mary Banes Freeman, 97, will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday January 23rd at the graveside in Arlington Park Cemetery. Born on June 27, 1916 in Marianna, Florida, she was the youngest of Ruth and George Banes seven children. Mary was married to James (Vic) Freeman (deceased). They traveled the country with his business for many years, but came back to Jacksonville. She established and directed her own successful real estate agency in the Arlington section of Jacksonville. She worked with Vic in several of his businesses including Sav-A-Stop which he co-founded and Julington Creek Restaurant and Marina. She entered full time Christian ministry in 1974 when she and her husband Vic started Arise and Walk Ministries.Aunt Mary passed away on January 19, 2014. Her survivors include many nephews and nieces. She will be long remembered and loved as a strong, independent, caring, giving, laughing, optimistic, beautiful woman of faith.
