Mary Coleman Hale, 72, of Fernandina Beach, FL, passed away on the morning of Tuesday, January 5, 2016. A Florida native and lifelong resident, Mary was the widow of James Leo Hale and youngest child of the late William Moultrie and Mildred Rucker McCullough of Jacksonville.Mary attended Marshall University, worked for the Duval County Board of Education for many years, and retired from the Alachua Multi-County Migrant Education Program in 2001. She was a member of the Fernandina Beach Newcomers Club and First United Methodist Church of Callahan. She will be remembered and loved for her soft heart and determination.Mary is survived by two children and three grandchildren: daughter Glenda Maree Garner, son-in-law Christopher Lee Garner, and grandsons Coleman Lee and Madison Allen Garner of Memphis, TN; son Grady Marcus Hale, daughter-in-law Holly Smith-Hale, and grandson Skyler Jacob Smith of Jacksonville Beach. Mary is also survived by her two sisters, Shuri Speed of Ponte Vedra Beach and Sandra Banks of Keystone Heights, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.Visitors will be received on Saturday, January 9th, at 10:00 AM in the Evergreen Cemetery garden cloister mausoleum, located at 4535 Main Street in Jacksonville.
