HOWARD: Funeral services for Mary Kathleen Howard, 89, who passed away on March 29, 2014, will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4747 Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206. Entombment will follow in Evergreen's Garden Cloister Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Howard was born in Winnsboro, South Carolina and was a longtime resident of Jacksonville, Florida. She was a member of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, the late Marvin L. Howard. Survivors include her daughter, Janie Hixson; 3 sons, Lem Howard (Linda), Harry Howard (Charlotte), and Marvin Donald Howard; 6 grandchildren, Kelly Alewine (Brian), Clint Hixson, Summer Rose Howard, Lauren Burket (Jeff), Melissa Howard and Meredith Schorr (Trey); 6 great-grandchildren, Nolan, Miranda, and Logan Alewine, Jonathan, Hannah, and Abagail Burket. A special thanks to Bill Joos, Howard Strickland, Tammy Bowden, Allene Johnson, Bhagwati Sangani and Mike Ziegler.
