Mary Ramsey

Mrs. Mary Alice Ramsey 83, a longtime resident of Melrose, passed away at her home Friday, April 23, 2021. She was born June 19, 1937, in Geneva, Alabama to Fred and Pearlie (Elmore) McIntosh. Mary was a homemaker and of the Protestant faith. Her passions were gardening, painting, reading and jigsaw puzzles, but most of all she was known for being a "great" grandmother and "best" memaw ever. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Martha Jones. Mary is survived by her husband of 61 years Thomas Ramsey; two daughters Donna Jones of Waldo and Janet Bruce of Altoona, Alabama; two sons Davy (Dawn) Jones of Raynham, MA and Philip (Wanda) Jones of Keystone Heights. Also left behind is a sister Peggy Mock of Old Town, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 29, 2021, beginning at 9:30 a.m., in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel with Funeral services following at 10:30 a.m. Her grandson, Pastor Jamie Jones will officiate. Interment will be private at Forest Meadows Memorial Park West.
