Mrs. Mary Kathryn StricklandMrs. Mary Kathryn Kitty Strickland age 87 of Key Biscayne passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2010. Mrs. Strickland was born on September 4, 1922 in Washington, DC to the late Warren and Pauline Charles Smith and graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1943 where she was a member of the Alpha Chi sorority. She moved to Miami in 1944 to become a Pan American flight attendant and has lived on Key Biscayne for the past 61 years. She and her late husband of 39 years Hamilton Merrell Strickland vacationed on Kingsley Lake every summer prior to retirement. Mrs. Strickland was a school teacher, a homemaker and a protestant. Survivors are: daughters: Peggy Strickland of Key Biscayne; Sally Strickland Moore of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren: Kristen Barnsby (Scott); Ryan Moore; one great grandchild. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Strickland will be on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 11:00 AM in Kingsley Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Cat Network of Miami, P.O.
