Mrs. Marycille Darley Bennett age 90 of Lawtey passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Haven Hospice in Palatka. She was born October 19, 1932, in Baker County to Talton and Hattie (Prescott) Darley. Prior to retiring Mrs. Bennett was employed 21 years with the Department of Corrections as an Administrative Assistant in the Psychology Department. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and cooking, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Bennett was also an avid sports fan, especially when it came to Alabama football and Atlanta Braves baseball. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Hiram W. Bennett; son Hiram Joseph "Joey" Bennett and a grandson Scott Bennett. Mrs. Bennett leaves behind her daughter Nancy Waldrop (Billy) of Lawtey and she was lovingly called "Granny" by four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. No services were held.
