Mathew Andy Griffis

Mr. Mathew Andy Griffis age 76 of Jacksonville passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 in Green Cove Springs. Mr. Griffis was born on February 12, 1945 in Starke to the late Albert and Mildred B. "Morrell" Griffis. Mr. Griffis was the owner and operator of Mathew Griffis Land Surveying for many years. He was an avid Florida Gators fan and during his free time, he enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing, cooking, dancing, sports, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jerome Griffis. Survivors include, brother Doyce Griffis (Anita) of Starke, daughters, Shari Bayne (Charles) of Jacksonville, Marcy Collins of Jacksonville, Suzanne Fagan of Yulee, Donna Miller (Scott) of Virginia, and Judith Rivera of Florida; He had 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other family members.A Celebration of Life will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Grace Baptist Church in Starke.
